Our Name

​

The name Ruth comes from the legendary Ruth Bader Ginsburg and is also the middle name of founder Digit Murphy's mother. As a supreme court justice, Ruth Bader Ginsburg paved the way for generations of women and tirelessly battled for women's rights. Ginsburg lives on as an exemplary role model for social activism and human rights justice. At Ruth, we live our name. We are committed to empower women+ to leave an intergenerational impact on our current world.

The Ruth staff is a high energy group of leaders who know female athletes and the power of creating a network for ongoing connection, support and development. We are committed to supporting female college athletes in their transitions into long, successful careers.

We understand the skills, talents, competencies and drive that it takes to be an elite scholar athlete and how that translates into success in career and life.  We have experience in knowing what employers are looking for as they search for top female talent for internships and jobs.

Digit Murphy

President & Head Coach

Margaret “Digit” Murphy is an innovator, visionary, and builder in the women's sports world. She is a tireless advocate for creating opportunities for women and is the visionary for the Ruth model of education, inclusion and empowerment. 

​

Digit is the President of the first NWHL Professional Women's Hockey Franchise in Canada, The Toronto Six. Prior to that, Digit was worked for the international hockey organization the KHL, coaching the Chinese Kunlun Red Star,  coached the women’s hockey team the champoinship Boston Blades, and was the first female coach for the women’s hockey team at Brown University. She is recognized at as a Brown Ice Hockey Legend, Cornell Hall of Famer where she played and Rhode Island Hockey Hall of Fame.

 

Digit knows what it takes to be a Proven Winner having coached Olympians, All-Americans, and earned numerous ECAC and Ivy League titles. She has developed a coaching model that works for female athletes to be and bring thier best selves in sport, work and life.

Jamie Allison

Talent Placement Coach

Jamie is a strong ally and knows the value that female athletes bring to employers. He works with companies committed to diversity and inclusion while recruiting high performers that can grow into successful professionals.

 

Jamie is the President of epitome HR, an award-winning consulting service aimed at talent sourcing, development, and optimization. He has over 20 years of experience leading HR programs that have been recognized for top awards in areas including Leadership Development. Jamie is a Certified Human Resources Leader, Certified LinkedIn Recruiter, and the author of Jackpot! A Step-by-Step Guide to a Winning On-Campus Campaign.

Jamie's daughter is an athlete and he understands the value Ruth brings to athletes as they study, play and plan for their careers.  He knows companies value the competencies female athletes have that translate into success at work.

Taylor Woods is the Business Manager for Ruth Talent. She is an experienced women's ice hockey player who is currently playing with the Toronto Six. Taylor is an elite athlete who knows the dedication and competencies athletes have in sports that translate to work and life. She is committed to the Ruth mission.

​

Taylor has a Bachelor's degree from Cornell University where she studied communications. She played Division 1 Women's Hockey in her time at Cornell. As a professional player, Taylor won the Clarkson Cup title in 2018 with the Markham Thunder team. She also qualified to play for Team Canada U18 team in 2021. 

​

Taylor is a certified Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCS), an ISSA Master Trainer, and a CF1 Trainer.

Taylor Woods

Manager-Player - Professional Athlete

Jazmine serves as the Director of Youth Sports for The University of Pennsylvania and is also the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Eyekonz Sports League, a leading youth sports league for non-traditional sports geared towards minority and inner city children of the greater Philadelphia area. She is very active in the Philadelphia startup community, supporting Philly Startup Leaders, Mainline NAACP, Philadelphia crime prevention prograoms, USA Field Hockey Association, USA Lacrosse, Association, The Olympic Association and The Alliance of Women Entrepreneurs. 

​

Jazmine has more than 25 years of experience creating strong teams and building strong leaders for emerging companies as well as Fortune 500 clients. Additionally, she spent eight years with Def Poetry Jam Records, and also a senior marketing manager for Kobe Bryant Family Entertainment. Jazmine currently is a board member for USA Lacrosse and Cheyney University.

Jazmine graduated from West Chester University with a B.S. in Women's Studies and Public Policy.
